M.I.A

Since I last posted, I’ve been busy….busy procrastinating.
Now that the peak has finally slowed down, and I am now trying to pick up from where I last left, and get my life back…not that I have been doing much, but I guess…sufficient..at least I’m more relaxed now than before…
Been missing in action (both here and MSN) quite a bit lately….trying to get a more balanced life…
So, here are a few updates..

A fortnight ago, while mom was on leave, she wanted to pay Ah Ber (Family’s friend) a visit.
Since it was a long weekend (Wesak on Monday), I was keen to get out of KL myself. Hence, we headed down to Melaka for 2 days. I, of course, took the opportunity to take my new car for a run. For those who didn’t know, yes, I finally got a new car… I’ve wanted to wait for a nice 2nd hand City, but finally decided against it, when my parents were keen to get our locally made, very own Proton Persona.
With it being a Proton, and with me having so much faith them, I certainly wasn’t expecting much. And hence, I guess it would be fair to say that so far, this car has been performing above expectation..pretty smooth, quiet… (Then again, it is being compared against my 14 year old Wira…not quite a fair comparison eh?!)..
Waited about 2-3 weeks for the car, which was pretty reasonable, considering we did not pay any ‘express processing fee’ aka bribe, which was requested for by them earlier.

Pictures taken for sis to have a look… .It’s Iridescent White..silver…but..a lil whiter.

Anyway, back to the topic. Granny decided to tag along as well, as she was also keen to try out the new car…Granny was so funny in one of the conversation with Ah Ber.
Ah Ber: Eh, aunty! You came too!
Granny: Yeah! I haven’t had the chance to be in Ah Fun’s new car, so, wanted to try…
Ah Ber: o.O You mean you are not here to visit me, but rather to sit on the new car??
Granny: (Still blur..) Yeah! It’s quite comfy u know? etc etc.. *And she goes on….*
Ah Ber: =.=”….

Anyway, Melaka has changed quite a bit since I last went there, actually.
We went for the Eye of Melaka, when I actually have not been to our Eye of Malaysia in KL…*hopeless*

Eye of Melaka..

River-Cruise… RM5 per pax, for a 45 mins ride! Pretty reasonable, if you ask me…
Granny: Huh? Still wanna take pic? I’m tired…

Then we headed for dinner/supper…at 2330 hours..for we only had lunch at 1600 hours…
Ah Ber was too excited bringing us around, she forgot to bring us to eat..
Ok, actually, the truth is that we had heavy breakfast at 1100 hours before we started our journey, and hence, the late lunch and dinner…

By the time we finished dinner, it was past midnight…all of us exhausted…and headed back to the hotel for bed…

Day 2: Head out again, this time for the revolving tower of Melaka, which started operation just recently in April 2008.

And I just realised that I actually forgot to take a picture of the revolving tower, hence..

Tadaa~! The revolving tower of Melaka, or more known as Menara Taming Sari. *The power of Google*

Up Up Up! *The Power of Google*

Mom: Come come take pic..
Ber: But..but..I wanna take with Popo..

Finally, decided to take together…
Mom: See, can fit all 3 into the pic…
Granny: *I think my arm is gonna break soon…* =.=

One with me and Ber

Inside the revolving tower..

For those who thought that only Penang has good ‘tau sa piah’ aka biskut tambun, Melaka actually has very good ones too…
So good that we need to make reservations, as they were all sold out.
So, while waiting….

Granny: Look! I look so cool…
Me: Even cooler! …..

Them: Come come, take one with the truck!
Me: -.-“…it’s a fire brigade laaaaa….

2 strong women lifting up the plane…

Some random shopping complex that we walked into after those pictures taking session..all sweating like pigs…and tired..

Anyway, we headed home at approx. 1600 hours, and that was how I spent the long weekend, and Wesak…

The following Saturday…

Met up with Suzen for lunch, and for the first time (with her, that is)..we headed for movies..
Both of us have yet to watch Iron Man, and were keen on it…so, we headed to…
1 Utama new wing: Limited seats…
1 Utama old wing: Limited seats…

Zen: We go to Pavillion la, sure got tics!
Me: Sure, why not?
Then……

Limited tics for Iron Man…
Me and Zen: !@~!%@$^!
In the end, we decided that we need to watch something, considering we drove so far for it… So, we bought the tics for What Happens in Vegas…
It was…surprisingly good..We weren’t expecting much…and thus, it was a very pleasant surprise…and we got hell of a good laugh..

But dissatisfied, we headed for the ticket counter again right before we head for the movie, and got the tics for Iron Man at 2300hours….So we headed into the theater at 1920 hours for What Happens in Vegas, and again at 2300 hours for Iron Man! And went home…2 very happy person!

And while waiting for the movies…we actually went for the fish spa @ Pavilion!
Apparently, we shouldn’t be “feeding” the fish for more than 30 mins…for whatever reason…
The fishes would eat the dead skin so we can all have nice skin…*I think*….

It was actually very ticklish initially…so ticklish that you can really see people roll on the floor laughing….literally!

So, I guess it really is a good therapy, if not for skin, for personal well being…
After all, people do say that laughter is the best medicine~!

Headed home at 0130 hours, and konked out…

Conclusion: Go out, have fun, laugh…You see the world in a different light when you are relaxed, and happy…

Sleep…or the lack of it

May 15, 2008 1 comment

I have been getting more sleep now that the peak finally seems like it’s slowing down…
I’ve been drained, mentally, physically for the past few months, but I guess at the very least, I learnt. I’ve learnt so much this peak, that it feels quite satisfying. But at the same time, I’m getting tired. Very very tired.

I sleep at every opportunity I get, and yet, I felt more tired than ever.
3 days back, I think I’ve found the answer to my extreme tiredness.. I have been sleeping alot, but haven’t had much dreams for the past few months.
In fact, most of the time, I feel like I was half awake…I think I rarely reached REM.

Perhaps it was the work, the stress, the pressure?
Some would prolly see this as an inability to take in the pressure and handle stress appropriately, hence losing sleep, which I think wouldn’t be unfair. After all, I did think of that myself.
However, after talking to a few other friends of mine, I know I’m not alone..
Sure we worked very hard even during our earlier days..
But somehow, comes the peak, together with the promotion, and new responsibilities…we just got a lil overwhelmed with everything.
It;s not that we can’t handle them, thus the sleepless nights, but the fact that there were just so many things in our mind, that it can hardly rest even when we were asleep…

Nonetheless, it seems like off peak is on its way, and I’m surely looking forward to a good night sleep now..
