To do? Or not to do?

September 30, 2007 4 comments

In my whole life, I’ve tried very hard on quite a few occasions
Yet, there were times when no matter how hard you try, the results were nothing near what you wished for…
All you have at the end of the day, is feeling lost, demotivated..and you simply want out, to give up.
Perhaps it was thru these times that I learned.. to let things go, to let things flow..
And true enough, things were much easier to take in after that…

Recently, it seems like…not doing anything may mean a lot to others…and this…really makes me wonder why…
The good news? I’ve actually been getting a friend..or 2 of mine thanking me for being there, when I really can hardly recall what have I done..
The downside? I’ve also been misunderstood by 2 friends of mine, and be seen as a threat by another….
What did I do? Frankly, nothing….
Weird but true…

When I do something with all my heart, it’s wrong.
When I do not do anything, it’s still wrong…

Been feeling pretty restless for the past 2 days…
Not that I’m super stressed out due to work…no…
Perhaps, there are just loads of things in my mind…it’s just soo messed up, I could hardly organise my thoughts…
Wonder what happened….

What has become of us?

September 23, 2007 4 comments

“Humans, compared to other living organisms on Earth, humans have a highly developed brain capable of abstract reasoning, language and introspection.” That’s an abstract I found when I typed “human” in Wikipedia.

And yet, we wonder what happened…as we evolved, have we actually rose to civilisation? For the recent news surely show otherwise..
In Aug 20, a girl (Nurin Jazlin Jazimin) was reported to be missing. Search has been called for, to no avail.
In Sept 17, police found the body of a girl stuffed in a sports bag in a shophouse at Jalan PJS1, Petaling Jaya.
But as the parents of Nurin view the corpse of the girl found stuffed in the sports bag, they denied that it is their daughter. 3 days later, DNA test confirmed otherwise.
The police even proposed a second DNA test be conducted to confirm this after eight-year-old Nurin’s parents refused to accept the positive DNA results released here on Thursday.
Who would blame them?It wasn’t a simple kidnapping and killing…it was a lil more brutal…much more brutal..To admit that that is their daughter, would literally stripped them off all hope to find her again…and it also means that they would have to accept that their daughter was harrased, tortured to death…

Top pic: Nurin Jazlin Jazimin, bottom: The girl found stuffed naked in a sports bag..Which was later confirmed to be Nurin

Police found bruise marks on her neck, suggesting strangulation, and a brinjal and a cucumber inserted in her private parts. It is believed that the use of force may be to compensate the perpetrator’s inadequacy or a sense of wanting to be superior. He shows that he wants to be in control by abusing the victim before killing her. It is also believed she died from punctured abdomen, from the insertion of the brinjal and cucumber.
Such inhumane act, on a 8-year-old girl that has no chance of survival against that perpetrator.

Conclusion: We may have evolved…we may be a lil more gifted than all other beings, but rather than having the “gift” work for us, really, has it just turned against us? Are we really more civilized now than before?

Series of Unfortunate Events

Someone once said to me: God is fair…When he gives you something, he takes something else back…

I know I have been abandoning this blog of mine for a while now…But really, so much has happened recently, that I really hadn’t much time to just sit down and blog about it..
A few of my colleagues thought that I have the best of luck recently…great engagements, with my most hectic job out of my way…everyone has been saying how my luck has changed for the better…and I personally think so too…
But now it has dawned on me that with that, I need to give up something else…

Most would have known that I went to Melbourne late Aug/ early Sept…went there for hols…
for a week…
But perhaps not so many knew that it has been a very dramatic departure day.. we were nearly 30 mins late for our flight
Our flight was at 1000 hours, and really, I was in KL Sentral at 0700 hours…so…isn’t it a lil ironic that I was still late…?Well, my dad has decided to send the car to be fixed..in Cheras..hence drove down to Cheras and then all hell broke loose.
The jam from Cheras to KL Sentral…traffic was at stand still really…Hence, we were late for our Express Train…As gran was also there, and she couldn’t run…I asked mom to board the flight first….giving us the boarding pass….only after they left that I realised that I forgot to ask for our passport…and what’s worse? Mom didn’t bring her mobile with her…lucky thing she realised that our passports were all with her, called us with a public phone to meet up before we go thru the customs…Only to end up waiting for each other at 2 different places…
hence, by the time we reached the departure hall…we were 30 mins late…the doors have been closed, and we were told that we have missed the flight….
It was only after much “discussions” held btw dad and MAS captain that we were allowed in finally…
Phew!

Day 5 in Melbourne: Decided to pay a visit to Melbourne’s tallest building, and the world’s tallest residential building- Eureka Tower. Took the lift up to 88th floor, the observation deck. After some cam whoring sessions, we have decided it’s time to leave. Headed for the lift, only to wait…and wait…and wait…and wait…and then we were told that the fire alarm went off, the lift stopped, and we might just have to walk 88 floors down… o.O
Lucky thing…after approx. 20 mins…we were told that it was false alarm…and hence the lift worked again..

Day 7 in Melbourne: Realised that my roaming sucks big time. All msges sent by my friends (Malaysia AND Aus) were never received by me…and my msges? Well, obviously they were never sent out too…Wouldn’t say I made some enemies from this…but I can certainly say that some of my friends sure weren’t the happiest bunch…
All I could say now is that, I’m sorry I couldn’t reached them and didn’t get their msges…resulting in some misunderstandings. However, on the other hand, I got to know some knew me well enough that no explanation was needed, while others, things now seemed to me that there were more misunderstanding, than understanding in the whole friendship..

After I came back from Melbourne…I fell ill…I have not been feeling at my best even when I was there, but I guess since I was only there for a week, I just had to made full use of every single day I have there…Had cough, running/blocked nose, a really heavy head, fever, sorethroat.. Lasted for a few days…I haven’t had so many sickness at any one time for a while now…
*Sigh*

p/s: For pics taken during the Melbourne trip, do check out my sis’s blog:
Day 2: Healesville Sanctuary

Day 5 & 7: @ Vic Mart and Chadstone Shopping Mall
Day 7 in Melbourne: The final night

12/09/2007.
I was attending courses provided by the firm, when I received a msg from my dad, asking me to call back asap.
Then the terrible news strike me. My house has been broken into. The entire house was ransacked, and there were a few things missing. I was told to be back asap, to check on my own belongings and see what has gone missing.
We could tell that the thieves came for the tv, as the new Sony 40″ LCD was gone, together with all its cable, remote control, manuals, even the warranty card!
After the clean up session, I realised that my external harddisk and my gold mouse locket were also stolen…
*@#~!@@#I(!!!*&$!

13/09/2007.
Took 2 days of leave to head to Penang with a bunch of friends. Just wanted to take some time off and enjoy ourselves…..Great food…we ate, and ate, and ate…
Too bad it rained the next 2 days…hence, we couldn’t do much really…Gurney drive, night market and other open air places were all closed. *Sigh*…It simply HAS TO rain just when I’m having my hols there! Kns….
Suzen brought her camera there…but weird enough, we didn’t take a single pic…reason?
For some reason, the atmosphere was a lil…weird…and no one was really in the mood of picture taking…hence, there was no pics at all…
Sad case….

And now…back to work tomorrow…

Conclusion: Despite all the unlucky events that took place in my life recently…I was lucky…lucky for not being in the house when the thieves broke in…lucky that I did managed to have some fun despite the rain and the tension during the Penang trip, lucky that, although I was nearly 30 mins late, our Melbourne holiday holiday went as planned. Most of all, I was lucky to be able to get to know some ppl a lil better now than before….and have friends that will always understand.
